Training is vital for a personnel’s growth. On the job training is a self improvement process but systematic approach towards honing the employee skills is a major prerogative of the human resource section. Management is realizing that mere qualifications do not sum up as a good resource. Adapting to the companies policies, decorum and job structure is a self learning process. The management has to find out lacunae’s that remain as gaps in communicating, owing to which the employee is left without support. These matters require special skill and understanding and hence vital for the growth of the entire system.
Just as there are processes that become redundant or obsolete and are replaced by better processes, the Human resource should find innovative methods to scrap old methods and instill a new process for the evaluation or an employee. Training the trainer is a complex issue and he is the ultimate chain in communication. Policies or yet to be implemented systems needs to be updated with the trainer.
A complete process would be necessary for effective communication. Employees generally feel the need to approach the management with their grievances and they can be trained to put forth their queries in a systematic plan. Training new personnel has to be done through an induction program. This involves introducing them to the organization chart, goal and processes. His qualifications or grade should be kept in mind while slotting the training program.
Specific training would be required for opportunities overseas or certain ad hoc launches. This is a skilled approach and the employee has to fit well into the team. There are interesting workshops and problem solving tools that can be incorporated into the management program from time to time to enhance the skill of the employee. This comes in handy during emergencies.
Cross functional training has to be included as soon as the employee gets comfortable with the routine process. This is mind stimulating and also solves the program of manpower provision during absenteeism. Self esteem and morale should be cared for while training the employee. New product training or application testing is also a part of management training at all levels.
