Yoga Asana for children and Pranayama classes are best suited in the
morning. Children doing Yoga from early age get the benefit of staying healthy
when they become adults.
Yoga for Kids include:
- physical exercises, strectching and breathing exercises ( only
for children above 6). It can be done after children wake up or preferably after
taking bath. It can also
be done in the evening after school finishes.
- Shatkarmas or Body purification techniques with warm salty water. They would
start approx one
month after the course starts. Some can be done monday to friday, and some
others Saturday morning.
- Yoga Nidra: Deep Relaxation in theafternoon.
- Five to Ten theoretical yoga classes for elder children (above fourteen) can
be integrated with the school during the yoga course.
- Other easy yoga poses for children.
Body purification techniches (shatkarmas) through yoga asanas include:
- Jala Neti to clean nostral passage for children above 5. (It can be done
regularly)
- Kunjal Kriya. Drinking warm salty water to clean the stomach wall and remove
mucous. Specially
recommended for children suffering from cough.This is for children above 7. It
can be done once a
week or more often in case of special needs.
- Lagoo Shankaprakshalan: Short Intestine cleansing by yoga . Drinking 6 glasses
of Warm Salty water to flush the
intestines. Very good for health. Can be done once every two weeks.
